Schott Jackets

Schott is about as American as a company could be. Founded four generations ago, the brothers Irving and Jack Schott started making raincoats. By 1915, the Schott brothers had a manufacturing base in Staten Island and were churning out men’s jackets in a variety of popular styles. And then, the Schott revolution began – they were the first to produce first jacket with a zipper, which came along in the 1920s. The Schott legacy of innovation carried on through the years – they made the first leather motorcycle jacket, designed the bomber jacket that American flyboys wore during WWI, WWII and beyond, and the Schott brothers also created the iconic Navy pea coat from soft, durable Melton wool.

Schott jackets appeared in the worlds of sport, fashion and popular music as well as making it into the cinema, The Wild Ones featured Marlon Brando in one of his most iconic poses – atop his motorcycle in a Schott Perfecto biker jacket. Schott has since expanded it’s range of coats and jackets, and also produces a range of accessories for spirited men, women and children everywhere.

The Schott men’s jacket range includes fashionable coats and jackets in a range of fabrics and styles. Schott divide their jacket collection for men into six categories: retro, motorcycle, classic, military, wool and nylon. The Schott Retro jacket collection includes a split cowhide leather ranch coat and a jeans-style leather jacket. Schott’s motorcycle collection still includes the iconic Perfecto, it also includes: the water-resistant Dragstrip racing jacket; the Andes water-resistant cruising jacket; the Easy Rider striped leather jacket; and the Alps Teflon-coated waterproof jacket.

Schott’s collection of classic jackets for men includes the Classic B3 Bomber jacket in sheepskin and leather, the western fringe leather jacket and a G1 Top Gun leather bomber jacket. In the Schott military collection, you’ll find the classic 32oz Melton wool Naval Pea coat, the brushed cotton M65 Army field jacket, the N-3B flight jacket in nylon, and the vintage leather A2 flight Bomber jacket. Schott’s wool jacket collection includes variations on the Naval Pea coat, a classic rancher in wool and a single-breasted car coat. Finally, Schott’s collection of nylon coats for men includes the commando Ma1 Systems jacket, a hooded reversible sweater jacket and a pelican hooded knit sweater. Many popular Schott men’s jackets are available in sizes suitable for larger and tall men.

For women, Schott jackets are available in a limited number of styles echoing the iconic collection of jackets for men. There is the Apres polyester belted jacket with detachable hood, and notched cuffs; the Freeway mesh motorcycle jacket, available in seasonal weights, with CE approved elbow and shoulder protectors; the Waterproof Andes touring jacket, Teflon-coated for breathable protection from the elements; the women’s Classic Racer Leather motorcycle jacket, with a swing-back/stand-up collar and piped zipper pockets and sleeves.

Schott jackets are available for kids as well. The Schott kids line includes zip-up and pull-over hoodies, padded puffa jackets, ribbed pelican-style sweaters, wool pea coats and parkas.
