Evisu Jackets

Founded in 1988 in Osaka, Japan by Hidehiko Yamane, Evisu is a back-to-basics designer label in more ways than one. The Evisu philosophy means making denim the old fashioned way, using vintage looms and as little in the way of modern machinery as possible. Yamane finished each pair of jeans by hand painting the trademark seagull shape on them himself – eventually, the jeans became popular enough that Evisu needed to produce more than 12 pairs a day, and eventually Yamane licensed a firm in Italy to make these designer jeans to his exacting standards with the specialised Japanese denim he had originally crafted on an American loom from the 1950s.

Evisu has since branched out to produce more than just jeans – the iconic, stylised seagull appears on shoes, trendy kids clothing and has even become a designer marque for babies. Evisu produce a host of widely-popular shirts, jackets and accessories for men and women the world over.

As the seasons change, so do Evisu’s collections – currently, Evisu are offering a ‘tei ban’ or ‘classic’ collection emphasising styles made from unwashed and cold-rinsed selvage denim or jersey. In the present collection is a stunning Heritage Denim jacket with printed colour pockets.

Evisu have an intriguing collection of jackets in styles to suit most tastes – the heart of the Evisu jacket collection, as with most of the Evisu products, is always denim. Other jackets by Evisu include the unisex Mighty Evisu Zipper Track jacket in red. There is also the women’s Evisu Donna collection is a short, cotton jacket, in brown with a detachable hood and faux fur ruff, as well as a full-length denim jacket with designer detail. Additional Evisu jackets for men include the bi-colour Baseball jacket with detailed embroidery on the front and back. For trendy boys, Evisu offer a variety of jackets, including a collection of baseball-style cotton jackets with detailed embroidery front and back.
