Burberry Jackets

The Burberry brand began in 1856, when founder Thomas Burberry opened his first shop in Hampsire. The business established a foothold in the outdoor attire world quickly and grew popular with time. In 1880, Burberry invented an innovative water-resistant fabric, gabardine, which led to Burberry’s involvement in providing service uniforms for British officers and equipment for expeditions to the world’s most extreme corners. By 1891, Thomas Burberry & Sons were trading from the shop in west London’s Haymarket – that shop still serves as the company’s headquarters today.

Burberry’s impressive collection of military designs was expanded during the first world war, and some of those products survive in today’s collections – such as the trench coat, crafted by Burberry. In addition to the iconic trench coat, Burberry is instantly recognisable for its ‘nova’ check pattern, in red, white, black and camel. Burberry’s apparel collection has expanded and changed a lot during its 150-year history. There are a few, iconic products that have remained central to all Burberry collections – the jackets. For men, women, kids and even infants, Burberry produce a range of jackets to suit a variety of tastes and needs.

Though the Burberry collection changes with the seasons, all Burberry collections include variations on their classic coats and jackets for men, women, children and today’s Burberry range even includes scaled-down versions of popular coats and jackets for infants.

For women, Burberry offer: the Islington trench coat, in a variety of seasonable colours; also, the Gilmorton swing coat, with a Peter Pan collar and a large, inverted pleat on the back; the Agglethorpe swing coat, with a curved collar and three-quarter-length sleeves; the single-breasted, Gleneagles velvet blazer; and the Asherham swing jacket, with over-sized stitch details on the cuffs, neckline and body. There is also a selection of stylish jackets available in the trendy Burberry Prorsum range, including a cropped, quilted jacket available in leather and cotton, and the Burbery Prorsum tuxedo jacket with satin details. All Burberry women’s jackets include classic Burberry details, and are easily recognisable by shape and style as Burberry items.

Burberry jackets for men include a wide variety of trendy takes on fashionable classics such as the blazer, duffel coat, trench coat and traditional full-length Burberry jacket. Men’s jackets by Burberry are available in a good selection of fabrics, from the traditional wool and leather macs to waterproof raincoats in modern materials. There are short, sporty jackets and even padded, winter coats available in the Burberry men’s collection.

For children, Burberry have crafted a range of miniature versions of the most iconic Burberry coats and jackets. The Burberry infants range includes hooded parkas, wool duffel coats and even a pint-sized trench coat for the fashion-conscious little boy or girl in your house.

Burberry jackets for men, women and children are available in selected department stores across the UK. There are also a limited number of Burberry shops, found mostly in London, as well as specialist boutiques which sell Burberry jackets and other apparel in the high street and online.
