Berghaus Jackets

Developed by a pair of outdoor enthusiasts from North East England in the mid 1960s, Berghaus is now a widely-popular brand of clothing, footwear and equipment for moluntaineers and climbers as well as ordinary people who like the look of an active lifestyle.

Berghaus made it’s first entry into the jacket market with the introduction of the Gemini concept in the early 1980s – providing walkers everywhere with a flexible, multi-layer jacket. Berghaus followed this successful innovation with the now legendary Trango jacket, for serious mountaineers who needed protection from nature’s extremes. The company continued to make great strides for innovation, launching one of the first product collections designed for women in the mid 80s – rather than being scaled down men’s gear, the products on offer are actually tailored to suit a woman’s frame, shape and movement.

Today’s Berghaus range owes much to the short history and great heritage that the company’s founders built so rapidly. The collection of products changes with each season to meet the needs of outdoor enthusiasts whatever the weather might be. Berghaus jackets have gained popularity among many younger groups in the UK, who choose to wear them more as a fashion statement than anything else.

Berghaus jackets for men include the lightweight Accelerator III, made from GORE-TEX XCR, with a fold-down hood and two large front pockets; the men’s Baltoro soft-shell jacket, offering wind resistance, breathability and durability; the versatile Concordia hoody for men; the innovative Berghaus Infinity jacket, designed to be worn over or under your winter shell for excellent insulation; and also, the Paclite multiactivity jacket, which is super lightweight, waterproof and breathable. The Berghaus range for men also includes a solid collection of fleeces, hiking gear, packs and shoes designed to endure the extremes of nature.

For women, Berghaus offer jackets such as: the Vitesse II, made with GORE-TEX XCR for winter mountaineering; the versatile Berghaus women’s Concordia Hoody with an active cut for freedom of motion; the soft-shell Berghaus Lhotse for women in Schoeller Original Soft Shell fabric; the Berghaus women’s Paclite Alpine Pro, designed for maximum durability and minimal weight; the XStatic top for women privides an excellent base layer of fast-wicking, quick-drying insulation; and, the Berghaus Sangar fleece – with Polartec 200 Thermal Pro fabric to provide maximum warmth with minimal weight, and reinforced shoulder and hip panels to endure long hikes with a pack.

Berghaus also make jackets for kids. The Berghaus range is divided into specifically-designed coats and jackets for boys and girls. For girls, Berghaus make the Altitude jacket, a weatherproofed, breathable jacket for outdoor activities. Other Berghaus jackets for girls include the Chaos, a waterproof mountain sports jacket for winter; the girls Hustle Hoody, in warm fleece for year-round use; the lightweight, waterproof Monsoon jacket; and the Berghaus girls WhiteOut jacket, with extra insulation for sports and other activities in the cold winter weather.
